About
I grew up in the Garden State, but I’ve spent the last few years living in Southern California. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Seton Hall University, I went abroad to teach English in Suzhou, China for a year. During that time, I learned that baijiu (白酒) is not to be trifled with, that I’m not a very good English teacher, and that my Mandarin skills are actually pretty good.
After China, I moved to LA in early 2018. I spent the next few years working at Gavin de Becker & Associates (GDBA). Initially, I worked at their former subsidiary, Private Suite, as a driver. That lasted only a short while, and then switched to working as a physical security consultant for GDBA itself.
During the pandemic, I became interested in computer science and began taking programming and mathematics coursework. I took classes that covered the typical subject matter, like object-oriented programming, data structures, assembly language, etc. This experience helped me pivot to my new role as an open-source investigator, where I’m able to leverage some of these new skills.
